April flew by at MMS! Clubs and activities wrapped up; scholars got to view a partial solar eclipse; NJHS hosted the Relay for Life; and scholar successes were celebrated through another round of 5-Star assemblies.
On the afternoon of April 8, scholars were provided with special sunglasses to be able to safely view the partial solar eclipse. Scholar glasses were collected to be donated to a school in South America for the next solar eclipse in October of 2024.
In April, all 3 grade levels held 5-Star Assemblies to recognize scholar achievement inside and outside of the classroom during the 5th 6-week rotation of the school year. Scholars were honored for their reading practice steps, positive leadership within the classroom, iReady MyPath lessons passed, and outstanding citizenship.
On April 27, the NJHS hosted MMS's Annual Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Scholars and staff formed teams that worked together to walk, bake, wash cars, paint faces, and sell treats.
